The Church of Scotland in Israel/Palestine has a vision of "Making a difference through Christian witness and affirmation of our common humanity in partnership with our local communities, by using the strengths of our own diverse institutions to fulfil our values in the Holy Land: peace, reconciliation and justice; service; compassion; inclusivity; honesty and integrity; alleviation of poverty; stewardship of our resources and environment."
We do this through our own churches of St Andrews in Jerusalem and Galilee, through our own expatriate and local staff, through our own institutions of Tabeetha School in Jaffa, St Andrews Guesthouse Jerusalem, and the Scots Hotel in Tiberias, through grants that we provide to charities and NGOs working towards realisation of the same values, and most importantly we do this in partnership with local communities, in particular our ecumenical church partners, Sabeel (www.sabeel.org), the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Jordan and the Holy Land (www.elcjhl.org) and the Episcopalian Diocese of Jerusalem and the Middle East (www.j-diocese.org).
Join our work in Israel and Palestine. Here we will list specific vacancies and volunteer opportunities as they come available. However please feel free to contact us at any time with queries or offers of assistance.
We also provide grant funding each year, usually in grants of up to NIS 30,000 (GB£5,000) each. Submissions must be received by the end of September, according to the criteria and timescales outlined in this document: Grant Funding Criteria PDF.
